3 Home Remedies to Help You Treat Fuchs Dystrophy

Fuchs Dystrophy, also known as Fuchs’ Syndrome or Fuchs’ uveitis syndrome, is an eye condition, affecting the iris and cornea. In the more advanced stage, the vision gets blurred or hazy.

Fuchs Dystrophy is mistaken for uveitis in most cases, however, only around 4% of patients are diagnosed with Fuchs Dystrophy. In 90-92% of patients with Fuchs Dystrophy, the condition usually affects both eyes.

What Causes Fuchs Dystrophy?

Both men and women can be equally affected by this eye problem, and it has the maximum incidence in people in their 40s.

The exact causes for Fuchs Dystrophy aren’t known, but there are risk factors that can trigger it. These are: genetics, a history of diabetes, smoking and older age.

1. Vitamin A Remedy

In order for the itch and sting to calm down, but also to help the eye mucous to regenerate, add a few Vitamin A drops in each eye, 3 times per day.

Liquid Vitamin A helps restore and rebuild the eye components, to the retina. You will not be able to see properly for a few minutes after administration because Vitamin A is oily and it give you blurred vision.

In addition, take Vitamin A and D2 supplements 4 times a day, or fish oil capsules. Try to find organic or natural source vitamins to make the most of this treatment.

2. Wheat Bran DIY Face Wash

In order for the eyes to be thoroughly clean, wash your face with wheat bran water only. To prepare this water, boil 3-4 tbsp of wheat bran in a pot of water in the prior evening.

The wheat bran water will be ready to use the next morning. In addition, stop using any eye makeup, especially eye shadows, mascara and eye pencils.

3. Castor Oil Remedy for Fuchs’

Grease your eyelashes with castor oil every night before bed. Use a q-tip and apply only a very small amount on the exterior of the eye, on the lashes.

Make sure the oil doesn’t go inside the eye. Castor oil has been used as a natural remedy to help eyelashes grow faster and stronger so it’s not harmful to use it on the eyes.

After applying the castor oil a few days in a row, you will feel much better and you will see tears forming naturally.

The Best Diet for Fuchs Dystrophy

In order to help prevent and improve Fuchs Dystrophy, your diet should consist of 50% grilled fatty fish, root vegetable salads (carrots and celery especially!) with simple olive oil dressing, black olives as well as fresh figs.

You can also include fresh dairy products into your diet for Fuchs Dystrophy, but in reduced amounts.  The main aim of this diet is to have as many good fats as possible and eat foods as fresh possible, with little to no cooking.

Avoid alcohol and caffeine because they dehydrate the body tremendously and drink plenty fresh water.
