Homemade Eye Cream – DIY 3 Ingredient Anti-Aging Eye Cream

Not enough sleep, allergies and stress will give you tired looking eyes. The skin around your eyes is delicate and needs nightly TLC. Most commercial eye creams are full of fillers and, most of the time, don’t really get the job done. You do not have to spend a small fortune on special anti-aging eye creams, you can prepare your own homemade eye cream with a few simple ingredients.

Supplies

  • organic coconut oil
  • vitamin E tablets
  • frankincense essential oil

Some Beneficial Skin Properties of the Ingredients

Coconut oil is the perfect base for this moisturizing eye cream. It’s mostly hypoallergenic (substitute with olive oil or grape seed oil if you have a nut allergy) and extremely moisturizing—it can penetrate skin better than most other oils. There are a whole host of reasons why you should put coconut oil on your skin and face which we’ve covered in this article.

Vitamin E is full of antioxidant properties. It aids in healthy skin growth and repairs wear and tear on the skin. It keeps skin smooth and protects against cracking. It also helps prevent premature aging and wrinkling of the skin.

Most people know about frankincense oil from its role in the Nativity story. In fact, this oil has been used for centuries in the Middle East and Northern Africa for aromatherapy and natural health. Frankincense oil can help with healthy cell regeneration and keep existing cells and tissues healthy. It can help to reduce the appearance of scars and stretch marks, reverse the symptoms and signs of aging and treat dry skin.

Effective Homemade Eye Cream

Add one tablespoon of coconut oil to a glass bowl. Mix it up to help loosen and warm the oil. Pop two vitamin E capsules and squeeze it into the coconut oil.

Add two to three drops of frankincense oil to the coconut oil and vitamin E mixture.

Mix thoroughly and add it to a small container with lid. You can refrigerate the oil to make it firm. At night, dab a small amount of the eye cream under your eyes. This will help the oils to penetrate your skin overnight. You can use it in the morning too, just allow it to soak in for at least 10 minutes before applying makeup.  You may also use the eye cream as a gentle, moisturizing make up remover. Enjoy.
