Mango Leaf Tea Fights Type 2 Diabetes and Reduces Belly Fat

Diabetes is a condition in which the body causes blood sugar (glucose) levels to rise much higher than normal. Hence, it is often referred to as hyperglycemia.  There are two types of diabetes: type I (where the pancreas doesn’t produce insulin) and type II (where the pancreas doesn’t produce insulin or the cells don’t use it properly).

Mango Leaves and Diabetes

According to a 2010 study, extract from mango leaves works as a great, natural treatment for diabetes. Researchers believe that its benefits are attributed to its sugar-lowering properties.

The team of researchers did the study on animals diagnosed with diabetes. It was found that the subjects given mango extract eventually absorbed less glucose through their gastrointestinal tracts, which in turn caused their blood sugar levels to drop.

Even though they didn’t include their method of extracting the leaf, they said that it was a liquid solution, which means that you can prepare your own version at home. Ingredients:

  • Water
  • 3-4 mango leaves

Instructions:

  1. Boil the mango leaves in a small pot
  2. When done, let them sit in the water overnight in order to increase the amount of extract left in the water
  3. Strain the leaves and drink the mango leaf tea on an empty stomach

It is recommended to consume the mango leaf tea first thing in the morning as this ensures you will get the most of it sugar-lowering properties.
