- 3 tbsp. of olive oil (45 ml)
- ½ glass of coconut oil (100 ml)
- 3 tsp. of grated beeswax (60 g)
- 10 drops of pine essential oil
- 10 drops of peppermint essential oil (optional)
- To start, pour the olive oil and coconut oil into a heat resistant container.
- Then put them to heat in the bain-marie or in the microwave oven.
- When they integrate well, add beeswax and essential oils.
- Wait another few minutes, until the ingredients are fully incorporated.
- Once you get a homogeneous mixture, remove it from the fire.
- Pour the preparation into a glass jar and let it solidify.
- Cover and store it in a cool, dark place.
- Take the ointment with the fingertips and rub it in the indicated areas.
- Massage a few minutes, until it is completely absorbed.
- If possible, cover yourself immediately with blankets and socks.
- Repeat its use for 3 days in a row or until you feel better.
Warnings about the use of pine essential oil
Pine essential oil, like other essential oils, is extremely potent. Because of this, its oral use should be completely avoided. Nor should a concentrated or undiluted amount be used. In its pure state it could irritate the skin, eyes and respiratory tract.
Carrier oils (coconut, avocado, olive, almonds, among others) are the best complement to dilute this type of oils. Since it can cause allergic reactions, it is important to do a sensitivity test on the skin before using it topically.
